Setting your Rates

We are getting lots of questions about how to set a rental rate for your home.  This isn’t an easy question… as every home is different.

You will want your DNC home rental to be priced competitively.  Pricing it too high will only make your competition more attractive.   And pricing too low will attract tenants that you may not desire.   We recommend you make a thorough list of all your offered amenities and then compare it to other homes for rent.   We also suggest you consider local hotel/motel room rates when figuring your room rates.  If a nearby hotel room goes for $150 a night for big events (ie:Nascar, Local Conventions) and you have 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths you might want to consider asking $300 – $400 a night.  If your home has special amenities you can adjust for that.  If you are renting for a longer length that just the convention days you will probably have to adjust your pricing down.

Proximity to the DNC  2012 Charlotte convention and amenities will play into the amount of rent that your place can command.  We anticipate that homes and condos near uptown may go first.  Also having a lenient pet policy, fenced yard, etc. may make your DNC 2012 rental shine above some others.  Make sure you put an address in your DNC Digs listing so it will be mapped on our home search page.

When you list your  home on DNC Digs as temporary housing you will be able to post Daily, Weekly and Monthly Rates.  We understand that some people may be looking for a rental for as much as three or four months prior to the convention.  There are already some staffers arriving in Charlotte for the 2012 event planning.  Others may want to rent in Charlotte for several weeks or a month.   So consider what makes the most sense for you and your home or condo rental.

We have property managers listed on our Vendors List who can help you with the management, pricing and security deposits.
